Home testing pilot

Test and Post: chlamydia and gonorrhoea home testing pilot

Pilot Service

This is a pilot service being run in one Health Board area in Wales and will run until 1,000 kits have been allocated. The service will then be evaluated to ensure that it is the right thing for Wales so we would be grateful if you would complete the survey after ordering your kit.

If you live in the Hywel Dda University Health Board area you can use this service to get a test kit for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea that you can use in your own home and then post to the laboratory in the pre-paid envelope.

Order a postal test kit for Chlamydia/Gonorrhoea

  • You can take a test for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea in your own home. Just complete the questions and we will send you a FREE test kit.
  • If you think you may have been at risk of infection, it's advised you wait 2 weeks after potential exposure before providing a sample for testing.
  • The kit has everything you need for the test and once you’ve collected your sample you simply post it back, in the envelope provided, to the laboratory for testing.  It’s freepost so you don’t need a stamp.
  • Your sample will be tested for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea.
  • As soon as your sample has completed the process you will be sent your results via text message. If you have a positive result or if your answers have indicated that you need further advice the sexual health service will be in touch to arrange your free and confidential treatment and care.

You will receive your results within two weeks of returning your sample.
